What’s Green about FLATLITE®?
Energy consumption
FLATLITE® consumes as little as 0.5 watts per foot length of an inch wide strip making it a serious competitor to other light sources in terms of running cost and energy consumption. Operating costs are a fraction of other light sources. It is approximately 6% of the cost of running a neon or florescent light; 12% the cost of fibreoptics; and 18% the cost of an LED stripe. Flexibility
The ability to cut and re-seal lengths of continuous FLATLITE® on rolls up to 300 feet long without any machinery provides both a simple yet energy efficient method of application
Transport
FLATLITE® by its nature is a thin and light weight material minimizing the impact on greenhouse gases produced. The ability to order long lengths of the material and cut to size also reduces packaging and unnecessary transport.
Recycling
FLATLITE® is not affected by turning the light source on or off; it can as such be re-used time and time again for different applications avoiding the need to replace within its lifetime.
At Lite-house we save all of our off cuts when cutting to size, these can then be re-scribed and re-used like a brand new piece of lamp.
At Lite-house we also look to take advantage of older 1st generation material, this is suitable for some graphic applications and or samples. This approach reduces the amount of new manufacture
Landfill – disposal
FLATLITE® Electroluminescent Lamps have been analyzed for the complete Toxicity Characteristic Leachate
Procedure (volatiles and semi volatiles), ensuring their safety for landfill disposal.
